It looks like Daiso may have pulled a CVS. I have always paid with my phone, but today was told they no longer accept it, despite the terminal displaying the contactless logo. So, I tapped my Chase card and the terminal said 'Cless not allowed'.
It's possible a software upgrade messed things up too. Unfortunately it might take a while to resolve.
