I took an extra day since it was my first trip to Hong Kong and Asia. I came into HKG Friday night and left Tuesday morning (the return was via SFO - slept the entire time between the meals).

Gman3 - I understand your concern with Ambien. This was my first time using the drug (and I'm not big on drugs of any sort) - my doctor had no issue subscribing me a handful for this purpose. I recommend trying the pill first at home when you know you don't have to wake up early the next morning to see how your body reacts -- make sure you have at least a 9 hour sleep window, hopefully you'll get a solid 8 in. I never sleep on planes, the best is a light sleep that doesn't provide much value, so the pill was a necessity and getting the sleep on the flight in HKG time on my outbound, allowed me to be functional once we landed.
