I'm looking to fly from NYC to ATH/JTR one-way on June 2nd or 3rd. BA has plenty of flights that fit this route perfectly, including one a nice JFK-LHR-JTR option with only a quick layover.

Problem is -- every one-way flight is outrageously priced (e.g., like $3,000 for Y). I have 200k Amex points, but I'm not seeing any Avois availability so I can't even do a redemption.

I apologize if this is a noob question, but is there ANY way around the massive one-way fares on BA (other than buying a return ticket and throwing it away)? I originally was looking at J or Y+, but at this point I don't even care, if I can get something that is more reasonable than 3k I'd take it.
