Value means nothing if you cannot find award availability. USA Eu business class awards can be hard to extremely hard to get. And some ffp's have cash surcharges (Aeroplan, AA using BA flights and others) While many credit cards transfer at 1:1 with hotels it can be different.

A very general guide for ff miles needed for awards, but consult the ffp web site.
