Hotel Northland, Autograph Collection is owned by Greenwood Hospitality Group and Octagon Credit Partners, according to this report. Basically, the old owner started renovations in 2015 only to default on a loan and they bought it for over $30 million in 2018. It gets even juicier:

An audit of spending on the renovation of the Hotel Northland under its former developer could not determine how $850,000 of city-provided funding was spent.

The audit, ordered after the historic downtown hotel went into receivership, determined the money was spent on renovations, but not on the items identified in bills submitted to the city.

For instance, a disbursement of $621,000 for kitchen equipment from a city-managed U.S. Housing and Urban Development loan was spent on other elements of the renovation. No kitchen equipment was purchased, the audit states.

Greenwood is also managing it. Their other properties include Reikart House, Tribute Portfolio in Amherst, New York; Hotel Paso Del Norte, Autograph Collection in El Paso, Texas; and the Renaissance in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The general manager previously managed the The Vinoy Renaissance in St. Petersburg and the Renaissance Waterford in Oklahoma City.

It looks as if the "sports bar" is open:

"It's really an exciting day," said John D. Williams, Hotel Northland General Manager.

Williams says the sports bar is the first step in getting the entire ten-story landmark open.

...

Right now, the restaurant is open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. But when the entire hotel opens, Poke the Bear will be open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week.

Here is a picture of the sports bar:

It doesn't look anything like the bar shown in the rendering on the hotel's website:

I also found this interesting:

Construction on the 94-year-old building started back in December 2015. Renovation work stopped for nearly a year, mostly last year, because of financial problems.

On the brink of opening, Williams says the hotel needs to be perfect before guests will be staying overnight.

“The lipstick hasn't been applied yet,” said Williams.

...

Since work on the hotel restarted late last year, the city has been saying the hotel has to open by the end of this year to receive federal and state tax credits. The city says the project will still receive $14 million in tax credits because it has been granted its certificate of occupancy.
