Overwhelmingly, we felt safe and we were safe. There are more violent deaths in my hometown each day than there are attacks against tourists in the average year in Cairo. I would return and bring my family in heartbeat. That said, my heart goes out to good people of Egypt because not only does the rare attack against tourists keep people away, but it also makes it difficult for the citizens of Egypt to get tourist visas to visit places most of the world takes for granted, such as visiting Europe.
