Well CBC or not covering this ( I know people think CBC coverage of WS or AC = bias) , WestJet did a terrible job of handling the problem, not even knowing if there were rooms for all the delayed passengers (there were not) and making those pay (again) at the hotel were they were taken.
AA gives out paper vouchers which are virtual Mastercard account numbers so it's weird WS gave the passengers nothing to pay with, not that there were rooms for all of them anyway.
Passengers not having enough dough or credit card capacity for one room and a taxi and food for one night sounds like passengers that should be learning to save a bit vs. vacation in Cancun, mind you.
