I gather maybe Alaska doesn’t have personnel at Buffalo but that is all the more reason that they need to have a sound plan in place when these emergency landings occur. Will be more interested to see what improvements are made than in the compensation (which I expect will increase from the initial offer of $1000 in funny money)
But it also appears Alaska has nobody on-call at night, so nobody to authorize anything.
So I guess it is true flying Alaska from the East Coast can be a nightmare.
