The FA who asked the usual exit row questions went to the lead FA and said "Is a hearing impaired person okay in the exit row?" The other FAs reply was "I don't know, but it would be such a hassle now to move people around".... There was no switching of seats.
Kind of scary, unless the FA knows how to sign the instructions.
