Of course, depends upon the booking code. We had to cancel our two P fare tickets to Tuscany last November after I hurt my knee late October and had surgery. Penalty for cancellation was CAD 600 each. So I cancelled, they reimbursed minus the $1200. Of course a full J would be fully flexible hence no penalty.
Tickets were paid o my Amex. I called the insurance. They sent a form. One spot needed to be filled by a physician, either the attending one or our family doctor. We went to the latter early December when I finally was able to drive. Sent the claim right away. Got a cheque in the mail teo days ago.Bottom line: go see your doctor if you bought on a credit card that provides cancellation insurance for medical reasons.
