I became a US citizen in 2018 (Australian with green card) and went to YYZ Nexus office and added my US passport, however Jan 4, 2019 I flew into YUL and I was flagged because my Nexus card was showing my Australian passport (which need Canada eTA to enter) and secondary could not see my US passport details even though the new Nexus card has citizen: USA.
I was told to go to the Nexus office YUL but they were closed due to the US government shutdown.
After looking through TTP account both passports are in the system but my Australian one is first (if that matters). Next to my citizenship on my account for the US it has a gold flag next to it which should mean that is my primary citizenship.
I called the Toronto Nexus office and an immigration officer said the Nexus office is open with limited service, but since its a problem on the Canadian side she could fix it. She asked for my Passid and saw my US citizenship on my file and said it was fixed. Let's hope it is that simple. But when I went back into the system, my Australian passport is still showing and the yellow flag still next to my US citizenship.
Is there a way to have CBSA delete the Australian passport? Or do I have to show all citizenships to nexus? I don't know why they insisted that it stays in the system since I can't use it to enter Canada or the US without a electronic Visa for canada.
I am going to be in Toronto next Friday so we will see if it works, or have to go to secondary then to the Nexus Office. I will be going with copies of my trust travel website information showing the info is correct online, just not on the card.
