So to fulfill my requirement I signed up for eBay (new account) and bid on the cheapest thing I could find that already had a bid on it. My thought was that whoever bid on it before me would have a proxy bid in and would immediately outbid me. Well that theory fell through. I placed a bid for 6 cents on an item I don't want or need and to my surprise became the high bidder. Worse yet the auction just ended and I won!!! Now I obviously don't care about the 6 cents, but the seller wants $10 for shipping. Oh well I'm going to just pay for the thing and chalk it up to a lesson learned.

Anyway, if you're planning to do the same thing, take these words of advice... If you don't want to win then make sure you bid on something popular. And just in case you do win make sure it's something you actually want or need.
