When I asked what seats are left she said there’s only one seat left on the HKG-JFK section, and the JFK-HKG is completely booked full in F! (We did get 1A and 2A on the JFK-HKG) I guess my ticket isn’t exactly a totally fair example of the loads though given its Chinese New Years Time. But I’m sure I’ll see some of you on there!
I mean, I thought this mistake fare probably took away half their inventory, but with these full cabins it makes me wonder just how much inventory was taken to NA? I guess it wasn’t enough to cancel the tickets? Makes me wonder if you’ll actually get the real full F Cathay experience, or they’ll water it down, and if they’ll run out of bubbly and cavier. I have to imagine the employees are gonna be so over worked as the service is usually so personal in F I don’t think there will be time for any of that. Just how much inventory did this take from their first class? Could this be a warning sign they’re phasing F out? It’s all kind of a strange situation. This is definitely the mileage run of the century.
Not sure if i detect a hint of sarcasm here or genuine concern?
The answer is fairly straightforward... there is nothing to ‘water down’ about the CX F experience. There will be the same number of FAs, the same meals and beverages, the same amenity kits, the same pajamas.
What will be affected is how the passengers utilise the soft product. If 6 passengers are all trying to ‘maximise’ their F experience you may not get seconds of caviar. You won’t have a spare seat to set up a separate bed. You may not get offered a second amenity kit to take home to your partner. Meal service will be slower than if you just have the cabin with one or two others. If everyone wakes up an hour before arrival and all demand a meal at the same time it won’t be quite as easy to deliver if there’s so many of you.
