I don't think BA is as sanguine about the comparison as that.

It's not as if BA doesn't seek passengers from outside the M25 to fly to the States!

Yes, of course. As you say, the immunised joint-ventures are anti-competitive (that's why they have to be immunised - i.e. given a "waiver" to do what would otherwise be illegal) and it is great that there are upstarts that have challenged the status quo on the transatlantic markets. Long may that continue!
