It happened to me before at LHR T5 when flying to MIL. Nothing showing on the screens in the main terminal, so went to kill some time in Duty Free. And then, suddenly it's last call and I'm boarding as last passenger. At Gatwick had the other way around. Almost running to the gate because it said boarding and there was nothing going on yet.
