1. There is nothing to be done until the government reopens. GE is shut down and thus whatever OP's current status is will remain.
2. At some point, perhaps after the shut down ends, OP will receive a letter stating the reasons for his denial. It likely will not be specific, but it may shed some light on the subject. Could be as simple as having a typo in a former employer's address.
3. Not worth making nasty comparisons to other nationalities such as your wife's, using terminology which is insulting to the people you need to help you, or using words such as "damn" which some people --- perhaps the individual reading your submission -- consider offensive.
