enjoyed the new shell seats on the 777 service to DEL

I did not see any responses here.

My JL NRT-DEL flt in business class was quite comfortable indeed. It was on a 777 with the new shell seats. The 3500+ mile flt was on time and fairly smooth (about 7+ hrs). We flew over China, Bangladesh and into Delhi in the evening. The business class section was not crowded or full (probably about 70% full).

Meal service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Choices were traiditional Japanese or Western (Beef or seafood). No poultry (still fear of bird flu?) or vegetarian choice. Being a flt to India, I expected that at least a few dishes would be Indian but there were ZERO Indian food items on the menu (even the NRT Hilton had Indian, Indonesian and Thai items on its casual dining menu). I will definitely order special meals next time.

IFE was mediocre thought the system was state of the art. In fact, it was so cutting edge that my child's IFE had to be reset several times and it was about 3 hrs or so after takeoff before it would work. The bird's view camera channel is great though.

I would definitely fly them again and would recommend JAL on this route though they are much more expensive than Air India (you can get award travel on JL on this route through its partners fairly easily).
