When I worked in Qatar as a non moslem I was allowed to import $120 of alcohol each month. as whiskey was about $2 a bottle that was a hell of a lot of drinks.

We were told that since alcohol was prohibited for moslems then making any profit on selling it was as well ! Seems times have changed!

After a year I got to know a few locals and went to a party given by the Head of Customs who had a bar in his house with all the optics on giant bottles.
