I fly this route often, usually booking AA metal TPAC through HKG from DFW or LAX as it's been fairly easy for me to use SWUs. The 77W is good, and it's nice to just have a short flight from HKG to MNL once getting to Asia.

If you're booking into Business though, I'd go for JL's 77W through NRT. There's no need to transfer to Haneda, as JL serves MNL from NRT currently. Just remember that it's another 4.5 hours or so from TYO to MNL!
