Stayed at Palazzo last summer using Chase free nights - as Plat was upgraded to a high floor room with a mediocre view (Trump hotel - yeck) but the room was fine. $20 trick was politely rejected ("do you need change, Sir?"). Personally prefer the casino and mall shops at Palazzo though Venetian has many good restaurants. Everything is a short walk indoors. Also stayed one night at Encore (Wynn) which was a comparable room though much prefer Venetian/Palazzo location.

I don't think you can go wrong at any of these properties - the more difficult part (for those of us on a budget) is finding a discounted room rate and avoiding the bogus resort fees. The days of discounted rooms for casual gamblers are alas long gone...
