Who: Came out of semi-early retirement to reorganize international operations at a private government contracting company.
When: '18 was my first GS year as told the first week of January; got GS notice again a couple of weeks ago for 2019
How: Weekly commutes between PHL/IAH for both work and family, many times day trips also or twice a week on some occasions and when not on those I was on int'l trips to CentAmer and Europe and Okinawa, and many to the US territories e.g. Guam, AmSam, CNMI, plus every couple of months to Catania for family stuff. Also hit ExecPlat on AA again as a did last year.
Where: As noted above....Okinawa, Kyushu, Texas, South Jersey, Sicily, Bavaria, Andalusia, all five US Territories, MSP for Legion Convention, DC, London, Scotland, Central America, Oahu, Colorado Springs, ELP, Malta, Guernsey, DUB, Austin, FTW, some I cannot remember.
Why:The ability to arrive at the airport 15-20 minutes before my flight and always make it :-) Star Gold is nice also. I have ~2 million UA miles in the bank so need to use those at one point, once I am done flying for work so earning the bonus miles and stuff on work's dime is nice. And the GS staff at PHL are the best!
What: 2019 will likely be another Global Services year, though likely my last as I hope to re-semi retire so 2020 will maybe be Gold with nothing on AA
Happy New Year!
