Thank you for the replies, Mwenenzi & Pogonation.

Extra thanks pogonation for the effort made to post the points required example.

I have actually flown AUH to BNE with Etihad a couple of times direct on the 787 and did check via VA the availability and points cost, as you mentioned availability was quite good and cost reasonable when compared to others.

In the end i have decided to transfer all VA points to my Kris Flyer account. The reason for this is that originally i did transfer Citibank points to VA at promotional/bonus rates and this with the upcoming increase to 1.55:1 for VA to Kris Flyer transfers i seems like now is the best time for me to get a chunk of Kris flyer points at the lowest cost base.
