I know very well that BA has a 'no upgrade' policy. However, it happens. My question is what makes a passenger SFU?

The reason I ask is that I am flying long-haul in economy which I don't do very often and I'd like to increase my chances of a bump.

I'm Gold and my partner is Silver and we are going from LHR to SIN on the first leg of our honeymoon.
