Question Baggage check-through/interlining for LHR connection to Avianca on separate tickets

I'd like to travel ARN-LHR on a revenue BA ticket and then LHR-BOG-CUZ on an award Avianca ticket, but I cannot enter the UK to collect my baggage. (Well, maybe I can, at the discretion of the immigration officer, but I'd rather not make travel plans relying on that.)

From what I found in https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/brit...e-tickets.html "As of 15 November 2016, BA will not interline to anyone, including BA, if on separate tickets." - is this still the case? Avianca lists BA as an interlining partner, but not vice-versa. If BA will not check the bags through, is it possible for staff to collect my bags and re-recheck them for me? (I'm happy to pay for this.) Or am I out of luck? The connection time at LHR would be 2 hours 50 minutes.
