Some credit cards seem to be extremely good at recognizing patterns and using this to decide whether there's reason for a security concern. It's too bad that DL doesn't have the same ability to somehow note that your purchases of SDQ tickets in your name and with the same credit card attached to your DL FF account and in your own name should not cause alarm. In fact, IME AmEx does this very well and doesn't give me problems, although I do try to call to advise them of trips to weird places that are new for me.
Amex, Discover and Citi do a great job of this.
I actually just ditched Bank of America because they use to be good at it but then have since gone downhill, and their hours of
operation of 8am to 11pm have left me stranded more than once.
Example: drove from NYC to Florida. In North Carolina somewhere at 3AM used my card at a gas station and it was denied. They didn't open until 8am. Mind you BofA has a thing where they track your cell phone location to prevent invalid declines. Thankfully I had my amex that night
