While I've only booked 4 or 5 flights through SIN, I've been fortunate to have both helpful and competent agents that make things work. I had one even hold a LH flight without enough miles in my account until my AMEX rewards posted ( 2 days). I always call Houston but I don't think that the US numbers are different by city.
