I’m currently having an irrops situation.

Now, I’m not new to this: I’ve had plenty of irrops by now and I know my rights. *G (1k member, even) international pax plus polaris business is more than enough for amenities and food vouchers. Did that last night with no problem.

Problem is that my next flight got cancelled AGAIN. This time the next day flight is all full. Not including waitlist the next available flight would be 2 days later. So far I’ve got my new tix and got a place to stay for tonight, but for the night only.

My question is, will I be entitled for the amenities on THE FOLLOWING NIGHT? I know that they could only issue hotel vouchers at the airport and they could only do it on a day-by-day basis. The agent I was talking to seem to have claimed that I have to show up for waitlist on both flights in order to be eligible for the next night’s amenity (although I really doubt her, she wasn’t even aware that as I was entitled to amenities the first place until I pointed out to her).

Having to wait at the gate for waitlist would suck, especially since I’m traveling with my wife and an infant. Hotels hopping with a jetlagged infant isn’t fun to begin with, but if that’s what it’s amount to I guess I have little choice. I’m just a little afraid if there is some kind of regulations that state that I must make attempts at trying catching the nex availablet flights before amenities can be provided.
