60 days to cancel to get fee back - no proration after
As others have reported, for the first time I called and a Citi Account Specialist mentioned the newer policy of having now 60 days to cancel or convert the Citi/AAdvantage Platinum MasterCard (personal or business and also the older American Express). After 60 days, there is no longer a prorated amount. In November I had called and was told a different story; however, this agent wanted me to know there would be no prorated refunds if you wait to cancel or convert after the 60 days. He said the 60 days began on the day it was charged, in my case, the Statement Date.
As others mentioned, it seems there is an offer for the Business Cards but not the Personal ones right now (although I did read about the Chat Experience in a post above for the personal card, would like to hear if others have been successful). For the business cards whose fees had already been assessed, there was an offer of $99 statement credit after $99 in purchases within one month OR spend $1,000 in 3 months, receive 7,500 bonus AA miles.
I was able to speak about my personal accounts with the same Account Specialist who handled retentions for my Business Cards. In the past when I've asked if they could look at the personal cards, I couldn't, but no problems today.
All the Best!
