Expiry question for Avios in household account

I hope a forum member can help with this question concerning Avios in a BAEC Household account:

One of our children has an accumulated balance in their personal BAEC account, which is attached to the Household account. Those miles are in some danger of expiring in a few months, after 3 years of no qualifying activity. He cannot transfer Avios to someone already in the Household "group" of course, and it doesn't appear there are many non-flying applications for the Avios.

My question: if we manage to use some Avios on a flight redemption would that trigger a reset of the 36m in all the sub-accounts because - I believe - the redemption cost is taken pro-rata from all the accounts ?
If yes -- does this also apply to non-flight spends of Avios from the household account ?
Thanks in advance ....
