I am in a situation to burn my expiring evouchers. I have a confirmed booking in D on an intercontinental LH flight.
I wanted to do an upgrade to first (O) and see for the particular flight one seat (in O) available - also the call center confirms that there is an award seat for "new bookings" agains miles, yet for the upgrade it is only on waitlist.
So there are now two different fare buckets for awards and upgrades ? Is there any trick to "force" the upgrade to go through ? I mean there is an award seat, just not for the upgrade but for a new booking.
