There are other notes that it was delayed in DFW due to weather and then delayed in RIC due to previous delays of the aircraft.

In terms of compensation, I would guess AA will claim weather, but given it just says canceled due to previous operations, I would push a bit if compensation is what you want.
Compensation issue aside - any idea what the real cancellation reason would be?
