On AA I paid $113 to select that seat. On AS they are generally $99 or $119 for transcons.
It is called Main Cabin Extra or MCE. On my AS codeshare flight PHX-SJC the MCE fare (621 miles) was $59 but I was able to select it for free as an AS Elite. Included alcohol is relatively new to MCE making it's debut on Jun 5th, 2018.
I wouldn't pay for MCE myself not on any flight length.
