DL Skymiles Gold - 2nd anniversary. 1st year spend ~$4000, 2nd year spend ~$500. Somehow forgot to call for retention offer last year but my AF was up again now so I called. Offered 7500 miles for $1500 spend, or $50 for $1000 spend. Took the miles.
Called the retention line directly. Very friendly CSR. Interestingly, she quickly made a note of the fact that I didn't use the card much and asked if I was planing to fly Delta this coming year. She pointed out benefits of 1st free luggage but essentially suggested I could switch to the no-fee card. So I specifically asked if there was any way to get a credit for some of the fee or miles "or something", which is when she mentioned that yest the offers above were available. She read me the lengthy disclosure and then I agreed and we went our separate ways.
Good use of 10 minutes of my time.
