Just dined at Peter Luger for the third time this year on Sunday. I think it is my favorite for the consistency (how can you mess things up if you only serve a porterhouse?), the hidden gem of a burger, and the gruff waiters. I usually order the burger as a starter, the steak as a main, and the apple strudel for dessert.
Keens for the mutton chop, Strip House for the goose fat potatoes / chocolate cake, Bowery Meat Co for a more modern take are my other go-tos. Never tried Minetta Tavern but it's on the list. Not a fan of Sparks, and prefer Peter Luger over Wolfgang's and Bowery Meat Co over Quality Meats.
For a quick fix, I usually go to my local butcher, Paisanos in Cobble Hill for their wonderful selection of dry-aged cuts.
