Can I make this connection at Tokyo Narita in 3.5 hours?
I've never been to Tokyo (or Asia at all), but I'm currently planning a trip and wondering whether I'm giving myself enough time to make a connection at Narita airport.
I'm flying in and out of Japan on All Nippon Airways (ANA) from the United States. I'm currently looking into the possibility of visiting China for a few days at the end of my trip. The cheapest option I'm finding right now is on Northwest, which doesn't appear to have any kind of partnership with ANA, so I'm assuming I'll have to claim my bags and recheck-in for the second leg of my flight. The flight I'm looking at from Beijing arrives 3.5 hours before my flight to the United States departs.
Will 3.5 hours be enough time at Tokyo/Narita to:
Deboard my Northwest plane
Collect luggage
Go through arrival passport control/customs
Take the shuttle between terminals
Check-in for my flight on ANA
Go through departure security/passport control
From everything I'm looking at, I think I should have just enough time; unless it takes much longer than I'd expect after I arrive from Beijing, I can't foresee all the arrival/transfer procedure taking over 90 minutes. I realize I'm not giving myself much cushion in case my flight from Beijing is delayed, but I figure I'll cross that bridge if I get there...
Thanks for any suggestions/advice!
