Nice dining is sort of coming back onto dedicated sightseeing + dining trains.

The Aru Ressha Sweets Train (more Sweet life than dessert Sweet) from JR Kyushu is 25,000 pp based on 2 passengers at 2 person table. The menu is designed by Yoshihiro Narisawa. I think meals are probably loaded cooked and plated since it only runs with two dining cars.
