In the midst of my year-end trip...ate at Publiek (1*) in Ghent a few days back. I have to remind myself that Europeans view fine dining as something mirroring leisure based on the time it takes to finish a meal, but the food here was absolutely phenomenal. Fresh ingredients (even for winter), great presentation, and some really quality land meats (the beef tartare and the guinea fowl were divine). It’s a little bit of a walk (10-15 minutes) from city center but definitely worth the short trek. Unfortunately, my other 1* reservation (OAK, for lunch) somehow showed up only as a waitlist for them - so was IDB, so to speak
