I have postponed this trip and am now back to the same question re Vietnam airlines.

I understand that pricing is dynamic, but does anyone know the range in price for standby upgrades on regional flights?

For BKK-SGN, the fare difference is a few thousand Baht, so I am inclined to confirm business.

For flights such as SGN-PNH-VTE, Saigon to Vientiane via. Phnom Pehn, the business fare is quite high, and there is more of a delta between it and the Economy fares. Does anyone have any experience with such flights, and would you advise to take a gable on a standby upgrade in this case?

It’s just for one passenger, and I would guess there is a high likelihood of clearing on standby. But, if the J cabin is tiny, it could be full if there are 4 pax.

Flight VN 920 is a single flight number and ticket, but with one stop in PNH. Business costs 250% of economy, so I am inclined to take a chance on an upgrade.
