I've enjoyed my AMEX Platinum Ameriprise for a year along with an additional platinum card fee free. So they billed me $550 for the card and $175 for the additional card. I called and asked for a retention offer as I was thinking of canceling the card. They offered me either $200 statement credit if I spend $3000 in the next three months (or 25,000 membership reward points). I accepted their offer and canceled my additional card.
