It does it every time right near here. I think it's better than giving a distance as there's no way to misinterpret it.
It all depends where you are. Big populated areas get better google maps. Rural areas are horrid.
I stopped too early on a turn today, into a shopping plaza. Google didn't indicate there was a street, much less a stoplight. Only off by a hundred feet or so.
I think people's experiences may be different depending on whether or not they use the voice feature or just look at the screen (and mute the voice)
