I’m not completely sure about that, the thing I see in Asia is they don’t understand middle names, and thus because they are in my passport, find them much more essential, as they don’t realize that we don’t normally use them outside of formal situations.
been living in different part of Asia for 20 years and I never use my middle name on booking and nobody has ever asked me a question. Only place in the world where I was actually questioned about it was the US
