Ummmm... There service is "at best average" and the "opposition is worse"? strikes me that there is a bit of a logic problem here.

But seriously, I take your point. However, I have never been on a Concorde or in a First Class cabin with any of the problems you mention. I have seen some of the 'older' aircraft look tatty, but since ClubWorld was re-fitted and the new WorldTravller I don't haven't seen this.
