So this is wacky....Had a Southwest Plus card fee come up. Called in after about 29 days to see if I could get a retention.

I had waited til the last possible minute hoping that the 3000 RR points would come and I could either get to keep it for free, or cancel (and keep the points).

Spend wasn't very much, maybe 1k beyond the MSR in the last year.

Rep had nothing for me, and rather curtly closed the account, with no small talk.

15 days later, long after the card's fee has been reversed, and the account closed.....my bonus 3000 RR points show up in my account!

I also got 70 pts for the fee (which would end up getting reversed later).

We'll see if those get clawed back.

The points show up on my desktop online RR account, but oddly enough, not in my mobile account, so I'm reloading that.
