Advance Purchase Reservation - But Credit Card Change
I made an Advance Purchase reservation on the 25th November for a London hotel on 23rd December (so now just 3 days away). However up until a week ago they had not deducted the money from the credit card I provided. Last week, my credit card had to be cancelled and replaced due to a potential security breach so the one used to make this hotel reservation is no longer valid.
So my question is what happens to the reservation I made because presumably at some point the hotel will try and take payment and this will now be refused? Does the reservation simply auto-cancel or will they try and contact me for a new card number? I have e-mailed the hotel twice now but no reply. I have also phoned twice yesterday and today but the person who answered each time had a poor understanding of English and just did not understand what the problem was.
