Monitoring inbound flights is a good way to miss your flight. I was on the second leg of a continuing flight that got swapped. The inbound got stuck somewhere (I think SEA due to fog or smoke) and had a lengthy delay. They swapped the plane and dispatched us under a new flight number and sent us on our merry way while the inbound flight was still airborne with the original flight number.
