Twice in the last few months I booked AA Basic Economy flights through BA flight numbers and still got all of the OneWorld (emerald) privileges including good seats reserved at ticketing, priority checkin, boarding and lounges.
When I tried to check a bag at FRA, the agent didn't want to check it for free on BA metal connecting to AA at LHR, but after checking with a colleague, she relented.
I am aware that BA's HBO fares don't include checked bag but since you were connecting to AA in LHR, I am assuming that AA was the most significant carrier? But thanks anyways
