I renewed but am within the 30 days to cancel. Should I keep it? I guess still think it's worth it to keep it at least one more year and then shut it down and wait for the best offer I can find/get from the new program. I hit the magical 750/10 so I will have Lifetime Platinum Premier Elite with Marriott so the Gold status is worthless. I have never used the $100 RC credit or the airline portal.
I do however use the $300 travel credit on expenses I would normally incur anyway and are often reimbursed by my employer (don't use them to use them). Last year I used the $100 for Global Entry, obviously won't this year. I have used the Club level certs twice, both in Asia. The 15 EQN's won't help me since I'm my lifetime status is also the highest annual one I could earn, but I suppose would help me get SNA's at 50/75. I earned roughly 50K MR/RC points although I was off the road for 3 months for orthopedic surgery, so that could be higher but may actually be lower in the future since a lot of clients are doing less nights on-site and more remote. I did use the Silvercar discount once but it was a reimbursed trip so no value to me.
So my math is $300 for travel credit, $100 for Club certs (2 x $50 based on past averages), maybe $25 for EQN's since I don't need them for status and are only there for SNA's, $360 for 40 points and $150 for the free night = $935 of value for $450 spend.
Plan is to close it prior to renewal next year and wait for best offer from new card then. I turned down a 120K offer. It expires 12/6 but I think this card needs to be closed for 30 or 60 days, IIR.
They switched to the same metal as the CSR around August. Also, around August they closed this for new applications so if you close this card you won't get it again, FYI.
