Looks like I’ll be the first one to post a review. I just wrapped up a last-minute stay here and found it to be mostly awesome. The property is barely a month old, but has great connexions to public transit. Miraflores is the neighbourhood you want to stay in when you visit Lima because it’s not as hectic as Centro. Centro, where all the historic buildings are, will set you back 20-25 PEN via Uber. Uber is much faster in Miraflores (and prolly more plentiful) because E&Y, Microsoft, Google and others all call this part of Lima home. From the hotel you have most great restaurants within a 10-20 minute walk, which is great after a long day sightseeing.

The hotel has an indoor splash pool which is open during the day and a 24 hour gym. There are different room categories including suites, but I was given a corner room on the 4th floor, which is indeed the smallest of all room types. They said it was an “upgrade.” My junior suite at the ancient Sheraton in centro was more suite than junior and had a balcony, where I could dangle out my babies. The view was nothing special, but maybe it is higher up?

Platinum recognition was 75%. There was a welcome tiradito, which was quite nice. Everything worked and the room was immaculate. Two bottles of Coca-Cola branded water await guests (Eff Marriott), and a nice big mini-fridge to store it in. I chose the breakfast amenity and that was a massive spread. Peruvian, American and European buffet fare. You won’t go hungry, and it’s not pre-packaged foods like at most Alofts in North America now.

The only problem I am experiencing is a billing issue. By law, visitors to Peru under 60 days do not pay tax. It didn’t stop the hotel from charging me a consumption tax of ~85 PEN (US$25). This charge is not disclosed anywhere on the website, so I have no reason to pay for it. It’s something the property or Marriott will eat because this is not considered a resort. Other than that, it ranks up there with other international Aloft properties like London. I would gladly return.
