Not so sure about SEA-HKG going away as something that portends DL dehubbing SEA but more reflective of DL’s strategy with Asia in general (they could have moved the flight to another hub, for example). Yields are trash, and DL doesn’t have a properly sized plane with efficient fuel burn to compensate for the low yields, and they don’t want to invest in new aircraft either. They seem pretty interested in investing in its domestic network and developing connections with its JV buddies though.
I did have a trash dinner on SEA-LAX but it’s possible DL isn’t trying on a route where they have pretty decent market share on.
It would be really nice to know which routes ex-SEA was going to serve trash meals on. All of my meals ex-SEA are sandwich/salad including SEA-JFK, with a bag of chips and prepackaged cookie, but then I am on SEA-SFO in C+ and I see F gets two really nice options. If there was some consistency, I might actually buy F rather than rely on free upgrades to C+ and F.
