At the end of a recent stay at the Fallsview Sheraton in Niagara Falls, my wife paid for the room with her credit card (since our 4 year old was crawling all over me at the time). The reservation was in my name and I stayed in the room with my family.
When I didn't see the credit for a while, I called *Wood a couple of days ago and was first told that there would be no credit because my wife has a different surname

and then when I called Customer Service today I was told that payment has to be by a credit card in the name of the member.
I've searched through the terms and conditions on spg.com and I can't find any mention of this restriction. Was the CSR just blowing smoke or is this a real rule that I can't find anywhere?
